How much does Reddit marketing cost? Agency pricing in 2026

Harshi RathiUpdated 25 October 2026 · 9 min read

Reddit marketing pricing is hard to compare because most agencies don’t publish it, and the ones that do sell different things under the same name. One “$2,500 package” is 30 comments; another is a full program with research and reporting.

Here’s what agencies actually charge, what you should get at each level, the hidden costs, and the questions to ask before you sign anything. (We’re a Reddit and AI visibility agency, so our own pricing is in here too.)

Reddit marketing price ranges at a glance

TierTypical monthly priceWhat it usually includes
Budget$500–$1,500A fixed number of comments and a few posts, light reporting
Entry$1,500–$5,000Community research, regular posts and comments, brand monitoring, monthly reporting
Scaling$5,000–$12,500Several communities, a content program, reputation management, AI search strategy
EnterpriseCustomMultiple products or markets, dedicated team, custom reporting
Reddit Ads (add-on)$1,000–$2,500 + ad spendCampaign setup, targeting, creative and optimisation

The entry and scaling ranges match Discovered Labs’ 2026 survey of Reddit agency pricing ($3,000–$5,000 for entry work and $5,000–$12,500 for scaling programs, with ad management adding $1,000–$2,500 a month on top of spend). The budget tier comes from the cheaper agencies that publish their packages.

What agencies publish

Few Reddit agencies put prices on their sites. These are the published starting prices we could find:

Most other agencies, including many that rank for “Reddit marketing agency”, quote on request. That’s normal for custom programs, but always ask for a written breakdown before a call ends.

When you compare published prices, compare what’s behind them. A $500 package of comments and a $2,500 program with research and reporting aren’t cheaper and pricier versions of the same thing.

What drives the price

  • Volume. How many posts and comments a month. This is the easiest thing to compare, and the easiest to inflate with low-quality activity.
  • Number of communities. Each subreddit has its own rules, tone and filters. Covering eight communities well takes far more work than covering two.
  • Account infrastructure. Established accounts with real history get past filters that block new ones. Building and maintaining them responsibly takes time, and it’s reflected in price.
  • Research and strategy. Finding the right communities, the threads that rank on Google, and the questions buyers ask. Cheaper packages often skip this.
  • Content quality. A thoughtful, community-specific post takes hours. A generic one takes minutes and usually gets removed.
  • Reputation work. Monitoring and responding to discussions about your brand is ongoing and usually priced separately.
  • Reporting and AI search tracking. Whether you get a list of links, or proper reporting on engagement, Google rankings for threads, and mentions in ChatGPT and other AI answers.

Retainer, package or pay-per-post?

Agencies price Reddit work in three ways, and each suits a different situation:

ModelHow it worksGood forWatch out for
Monthly retainerA fixed fee for an ongoing programSteady presence, research and reporting includedVague deliverables; get numbers in writing
Fixed packageA set number of posts and comments per monthEasy comparison, predictable outputVolume over quality; check sample posts
Per post or per campaignPay for each post, launch or AMAOne-off launches and announcementsNo ongoing presence, so less compounding

For most companies a retainer or package with clearly stated volumes works best, because Reddit rewards consistency. One-off campaigns make sense for launches, on top of an ongoing presence rather than instead of one.

Does adding AI search work cost more?

Increasingly, the reason companies invest in Reddit is that its threads show up in Google results and get cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews. Tracking that adds work: researching the prompts buyers ask, checking which threads get cited, and reporting mentions over time. Some agencies sell it as an add-on; others, including us, build it into the base plan. Either way, ask how it’s measured. “AI visibility” with no prompt list behind it isn’t something you can check.

The cost of Reddit Ads

Reddit Ads are a separate budget from organic work. You pay Reddit for the ads themselves, and if an agency runs them, you pay a management fee on top, typically $1,000–$2,500 a month according to Discovered Labs’ survey. When an agency quotes one number that “includes everything”, ask them to split ad spend from fees in writing.

Ads and organic do different jobs. Ads buy attention quickly. Organic posts and comments build the threads that keep ranking on Google and get cited in AI answers for months, which is a big part of why some brands keep getting recommended. Most companies start with organic and add ads once they know which messages work.

What doing it yourself costs

Reddit marketing in-house costs time rather than a retainer. A realistic minimum:

  • Account warm-up: about 30 days of daily activity before you can post in strict business communities. Our 30-day warm-up plan lays it out.
  • Ongoing participation: 15–30 minutes a day to find threads and write useful answers.
  • Posts: 2–4 hours each for a genuinely useful, community-specific post.
  • Tracking: a few hours a month to see what’s working, including in AI answers.

For a founder whose time is worth more than an agency retainer, that maths often favours outsourcing. For a team with someone who already knows Reddit well, doing it in-house can work, as long as they can protect the time and understand the filters that get new accounts’ posts removed.

How to compare two proposals

Two quotes for “Reddit marketing” can describe completely different work. Put them side by side on the same terms before comparing prices:

CompareProposal AProposal B
Monthly price
Posts per month
Comments per month
Communities covered (named)
Who posts, and with what disclosure
Content approval before posting
Reporting: engagement, Google rankings, AI mentions
Ads management included?
Minimum term

Then check quality, which a spreadsheet can’t show. Ask each agency for three examples of posts or comments they’ve written (anonymised is fine) and read them as if you were a member of that community. Would you upvote them, or scroll past? A slightly more expensive proposal with posts people actually engage with is better value than a cheaper one that gets filtered.

What a good monthly report includes

You should never have to guess what you paid for. A useful report fits on a page or two and covers:

Monthly Reddit report checklist
[ ] Every post and comment, with links, community and date
[ ] Engagement: upvotes, replies and notable conversations
[ ] Anything removed, why, and what changed as a result
[ ] Threads that rank on Google for your target searches
[ ] Brand mentions by other users, and sentiment
[ ] Whether you’re named or cited in AI answers for your key prompts
[ ] Traffic and signups from Reddit, where trackable
[ ] What worked, what didn’t, and next month’s plan

The removals line matters. Every agency gets some posts removed; the good ones tell you, explain why, and adjust. A report that never mentions removals is usually hiding them.

What to expect in the first three months

  • Month 1: research, community selection, account setup or warm-up, and the first comments. Little visible result yet.
  • Month 2: regular posts and comments in your buyer communities, first discussions that mention your brand, first threads that start to rank.
  • Month 3: enough history to judge what’s working: which communities respond, which threads rank on Google, whether you’re starting to appear in AI answers.

Be cautious of anyone promising specific traffic or signup numbers before they’ve looked at your category. Honest agencies set targets after the research, not before.

Red flags

  • Guaranteed upvotes, karma or front-page placement. These usually mean vote manipulation, which breaks Reddit’s rules and can get your brand’s threads removed.
  • Fake reviews or posing as customers. Reddit’s rules ask users to be authentic and not mislead others.
  • No disclosure. Brand participation should be transparent where communities expect it.
  • Long lock-ins. Discovered Labs calls annual contracts “a red flag for Reddit marketing in 2026”. Three-month minimums are common; twelve months is a lot to commit to before you’ve seen results.
  • “Includes everything” pricing with no written breakdown of deliverables.
  • No named communities. If they can’t tell you where they’ll post, they haven’t done the research.

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. How many posts and comments a month, and in which communities?
  2. Whose accounts will post, and how do you handle disclosure?
  3. How do you avoid removals, and what happens when a post is removed?
  4. Can I approve content before it goes live?
  5. What does the monthly report include? Can I see a sample?
  6. Do you track which threads rank on Google and whether we’re mentioned in AI answers?
  7. Is ad management included, and how is ad spend billed?
  8. What’s the minimum term, and how do I cancel?

How to budget by stage

StageSensible starting pointFocus
Pre-seed / early startupDIY, or a budget packageA few communities, founder-led participation
Seed to Series A$1,500–$3,000 a monthConsistent posts and comments in buyer communities, tracking
Growth stage$3,000–$7,500 a monthMore communities, reputation, threads that rank, AI search
Larger brands$7,500+ or customSeveral products or markets, ads, dedicated team

Whatever you spend, give it three months before judging. Reddit visibility compounds: comments keep getting upvoted, threads keep ranking, and AI answers pick sources up over time. Decide in advance what you’ll measure at the three-month mark so the decision isn’t based on gut feel.

FAQ

How much does a Reddit marketing agency cost per month?

Roughly $500 to $12,500 a month for organic work. Most agencies that publish prices start between $1,500 and $3,000. Ad management usually costs extra, on top of ad spend.

Is Reddit marketing cheaper than paid ads?

It’s a different cost. Organic work is a monthly retainer or your time, with results that build over months. Ads buy reach immediately but stop when spend stops. Many companies use organic first and add ads later.

What’s a fair minimum contract?

Month to month or three months is common and reasonable. Be cautious about twelve-month commitments before you’ve seen results.

Can I do Reddit marketing myself instead?

Yes, if someone on the team can commit 15–30 minutes a day and warm up an account properly first. The main costs are time and the learning curve around each community’s rules and filters.

What does citations.agency charge?

Our Growth plan starts at $2,000 a month and includes 25–30 organic Reddit posts and 35–40 relevant comments, prompt-backed research and content, and keyword, SERP and AI citation tracking. Custom plans cover broader programs.
